The vineyard

Types of vine :
To produce quality wines, the vineyard was restructured for ten years ago with traditional types of vine : Niellucciu, Vermentinu, Sciaccarellu, mostly for the AOC wines.
Other vines can enter the composition of wines of the cellar : Grenache, Syrah, Merlot, Cinsault, Carignan, Alicante, Cabernet-Sauvignon.

Niellucciu:
Basic type of vine in Corsica. It enables to elaborate fruity wines, with some spicy and robust aromas, appropriate for ageing. These well balanced wines have most of the time a great delicacy.

Vermentinu
This vine is used for elaboration of quality white wines with a beautiful pale color. Well balanced and fat wines which present an interesting aromatic wealth (hawthorn, fruity of pear...).

Sciaccarellu
Specific vine of the Corsican vineyard, it allows to obtain wines with a good aromatic complexity (fruity then spicy on aroma), fine and well balanced, little colored. It enters the composition of rosé wines.

Geology

The Saint Antoine's cellar is situated in the oriental plain of island : it's a Piedmond's area on a light directed hillside the South, consisted of tertiary deposits and alluviums. Grounds are clayey or silico_clayey.

Climate
The vineyard benefits an annual exceptional period of sunshine and effect of thermal regulation of the sea. The mountainous barrier protects it from cold winds.
